Anette Jacque paints abstract landscapes which “examine the duality of reality and memory." Her paintings address the mind’s ability to alter a place through memory, as emotions manipulate fact. She uses neutral colors, geometric or organic shapes, and gestural brushstrokes to imply the emotional qualities that inspire her.
The artist teaches extensively in the Boston area at institutions such as the New Art Center, Newton, MA, deCordova’s School, Lincoln, MA, and the Brookline Art Center, Brookline, MA. She has also exhibited at Massachusetts College of Art and the Signature Gallery, Chestnut Hill, MA.
