Inspired by Echo Park in Newton Upper Falls, MA, Bartrek Walicki paints the landscape several times to capture the subtle differences that occur as the light changes throughout the day. The combination of bold colors and textured brush strokes creates a great deal of movement which enhances the reflection off the water. Walicki’s paintings also contain a subtle contrast between warm and cool colors that adds to the pensive atmosphere along the Charles River.
Walicki received a BFA.from Massachusetts College of Art, and his MFA from Boston University. He has shown in solo and group exhibitions at Perrin Gallery, Brookline, MA and artSPACE@16, Malden, MA.
