Carol O’Neill is passionate about material and texture. In her practice she believes that “what you see is what you get.” There are no prefaces, introductions, or epilogues, just the viewer’s exploration of the painted world. This exploration involves theory and practice which join with the realm of emotion. Through layers of natural colors and materials, she attempts to investigate this connection.
The artist received her BA from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, has done graduate work in fine arts at the University of Pittsburgh, and has taken classes as Massachusetts College of Art and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Most recently, her work has been exhibited at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Spring Bull Gallery, Newport, RI, the Boston Public Library, and the Scollay Art Gallery, Boston, MA.
