The 1998 DeCordova Annual Exhibition

Joyce and Edward Linde Gallery, James and Audrey Foster Galleries

June 13 – September 7, 1998

The DeCordova Annual Exhibition is the new title for the previous Artists/Visions series of summer group exhibitions that was initiated in 1989. To date, over 75 established, mid-career, and emerging artists have participated in this series. Taken as a whole, this series represents a major cross-section of this region's art history in the last decade of the twentieth century.

Like Artists/Visions, The DeCordova Annual Exhibitions present recent discreet bodies of work by contemporary New England artists which represent a wide variety of media, styles, and subjects. The DeCordova Annual also stresses quality and diversity rather than any particular unifying theme.

The 1998 DeCordova Annual Exhibition opens at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park on June 13 and is on view until September 7, 1998. Organized by Director of Curatorial Affairs Rachel Rosenfield Lafo and Associate Curator Nick Capasso, The DeCordova Annual Exhibition is supported by a grant from the Nathaniel Saltonstall Arts Fund. In addition, the Tiny Tiger Foundation has provided funds to acquire work from the exhibition for DeCordova's permanent collection.

For 1998, the following ten artists have been invited to participate:
