The 1999 DeCordova Annual Exhibition
Joyce and Edward Linde Gallery, James and Audrey Foster Galleries, Media Space @ DeCordova/Phyllis and Jerome Lyle Rappaport Gallery
June 12 – September 6, 1999
The highlight of the New England summer art scene, The 1999 DeCordova Annual Exhibition brings together some of the region's most outstanding talents in the visual arts. Initiated in 1989, The DeCordova Annual Exhibition is a series of summer group exhibitions organized by Director of Curatorial Affairs Rachel Rosenfield Lafo and Associate Curator Nick Capasso. To date, over 85 established, mid-career, and emerging artists have participated in this dynamic series. Taken as a whole, the participants create a Who's Who of New England art over the past decade.
As in previous years, The 1999 DeCordova Annual Exhibition will present recent discreet bodies of work by twelve contemporary New England artists, representing a wide variety of media, styles, and subjects. The exhibition is supported by a grant from the Nathaniel Saltonstall Arts Fund and stresses quality and diversity rather than a unifying theme.
