Nancy Hayes

Archaic, 2000, terra cotta clay with slip and glaze, 15" x 13" x 30"
Hayes’ sculptures are explosive, organic, rhythmic, colorful, playful, and threatening. Turned upon themselves or bursting out in all directions, Hayes’ forms have been inspired by many sources, including sea life, insects, body parts, cartoons, and computer animation, yet they are completely open to interpretation.
