Patricia Trevisan-Woods

King Coffee Coat, 1998, coffee filters, handmade paper, eucalyptus pods, 63" x 37"
Using remains from everyday life such as used coffee filters and dryer sheets, Woods creates garment-like objects that take on a ceremonial quality. These garments evoke both natural and cultural associations; some of inspired by the forms of insects, while others reference the clothing of various historical periods. Though they are not intended to be worn, the garments are nonetheless imbued with a strong human presence.
