Greg Parker's paintings are carefully constructed works steeped in the traditions of twentieth-century geometric abstraction. Based on strict rectilinear grids and precise mathematical ratios, Parker's works are reductive in their visual elements and rely entirely on a non-objective language of form. His paintings are also profoundly beautiful meditations on sets of perceptual dualities that include variation and order, color within tone, space beyond surface, and atmosphere embedded in texture. Untitled exemplifies the meditative nature of his elegant and poetic artworks. Parker's painting was purchased from The 1999 DeCordova Annual Exhibition.
