Cara Bean

Cara Bean received her MFA in painting from the University of Washington, her BFA in painting and illustration from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, and has also attended the Yale University Summer Art Program. Cara Bean has a passion for both contemporary art and teaching, which makes her a great fit for the DeCordova Museum School. She believes that all of her students are capable of displaying artistic talent when given proper knowledge, tools, support, and confidence. She enjoys helping them identify their talent, and watch the results of their newfound ability emerge through various mediums. Cara Bean celebrates imagination and encourages her students to find a new sense of awareness by pursuing meaningful and creative art. She has been a DeCordova Museum School instructor since 2004.
