STAY TUNED! @ DeCordova
New program which features a twilight Sculpture Park Tour, box dinner, and music performance in the Museum School Gallery
LINCOLN, MA—This August, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park is offering a truly unique and wonderful experience to both music and art enthusiasts. The Museum’s new Thursday night art, food, and music program STAY TUNED!, hosted by The Store @ DeCordova, will be held on August 2, 9, 16, and 23 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. This program showcases the natural beauty of DeCordova’s Sculpture Park at dusk with a Twilight Tour of the grounds. A Museum Guide led tour will give guests a chance to unwind and enjoy the beautiful sunsets over Flint’s Pond, while learning about the sculptures in DeCordova’s Park.
Following the tour, guests will be provided with a delicious box dinner from The Café at the DeCordova which they can enjoy outside or eat in the Museum School Gallery. After dinner is over at 8 pm, the music will begin. With different artists performing each Thursday evening in August, this is a great chance to hear a varied repertoire and enjoy a relaxing summer night.
The STAY TUNED! evening package, which is hosted by The Store @ DeCordova, costs $25 per person for Members and $35 for Non-Members. Reservations are required and space is limited, contact 781/259-8692 or email dduddy@decordova.org to reserve your place. Remember that each evening includes a tour, dinner, and wonderful music! All programs are subject to change.
August 2: This wonderful new music program begins with the Matt Richard/Jim Robitaille Duo. Their dynamic and lyrical jazz duets on piano and guitar will fill the Museum School Gallery with their innovative brand of this truly American music form.
August 9: Trained at the Boston Conservatory, classical musician Javier Caballero performs on that most moving of symphonic instruments—the cello. A sound that speaks like the human voice and speaks directly to the human heart will soar through the summer evening in this solo performance.
August 16: Known to local Boston audiences as The Farewells, the husband-and-wife team of Peter and Samantha Linnane brings a thought-provoking program of their original acoustic music to our new venue. Witty, dark, plaintive, and moving – their songs will endow the evening with a haunting tenderness.
August 23: Singer/songwriter Becky Williams brings her very personal and inspired vision to each of her songs. In words that reflect on the deep workings of the heart and the journey we all take together through each day, her voice will echo in the mind long after the evening has ended.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to enjoy the mingling of arts and nature like never before! With this fantastic lineup of professional musicians, Thursdays in August at DeCordova will be a great way to end the summer months.
