"I express the essence of my world through bold use of abstract shapes and luxuriant color fields. My work explores form, light, mood, and atmosphere and I often rework my visual vocabulary to satisfy my appetite for describing my world in new ways. All of my imagery is comprised of 'phrases' from my voyage nurtured by memory and experience. The results arise from my reactions to reality rather than from observations, thus making my work expressionist by definition. Often suggestive of nature, it is always liberated and condensed to the essentials."
