Janvier Miller paints a variety of still lifes, using subjects such as vases, paint buckets, paint tubes, books, boxes, and other objects that make their way into her studio. Her large scale depiction of such everyday objects enhances their usually mundane presence. Miller’s expressive brushstrokes animate each object, adding a new dimension to our perception of the subject matter.
Miller has work in a number of private collections, including the Addison Museum of Art, Andover, MA and the Rose Art Museum, Waltham, MA. Currently living in Florida, Miller shows extensively in that area, including at Vero Beach Museum. She has also exhibited at Provincetown Art Association and Museum and the Fuller Craft Museum, among other locations. In 2001 she won the “Indian River Competitive” at Vero Beach Center for the Arts.
