Joanne Barber’s choice to photograph flowers was a natural extension of her upbringing. Her mother started her on a collection of wildflowers when she was five, her grandparents were commercial flower growers, and her parents cultivated full, beautiful gardens at their home in Illinois. As painters, Barber’s parents often chose flowers as their subjects. Barber carries her family’s love and passion for this natural beauty into her current work.
The artist recieved her BS in photography as well as her MFA in photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology, NY.
