John Palen’s photographs are set in the playgrounds and backyards of small-town New England. His images are based on the simple forms that make up playground equipment, with close-ups that render the objects almost abstract. At once whimsical and playful, the artist’s silver-gelatin prints maintain an inherent formality and luminosity. The artist works with Palm Press.
