GUIDED TOUR INFORMATION

Guided tours of the SCULPTURE PARK are offered Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–3 pm from April to November, and additionally on Monday and Tuesday from May to mid-October.

Guided Tours of the MUSEUM are offered year-round when exhibitions are on view, Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–3 pm and additionally on Mondaysand Tuesday 10 am–3 pm from May to mid-October.

  • Because of the delicate nature of our exhibitions, guided tours will be scheduled for all groups of 10 or more visiting inside the Museum.
  • Due to the high demand for tours, it is recommended that your request be submitted at least three weeks in advance. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests.
  • Guided tours are approximately 45 minutes and can be arranged for groups of 10–100 people. NOTE: The tour limit for the Museum building is 50 at one time.
  • A Museum Guide will contact you approximately one week before your tour to confirm your reservation, take any requests, and answer questions about your visit.
  • Cancellations must be submitted 10 business days prior to the date of your tour.
  • Please arrive on time, as our Museum Guides await your arrival. Groups arriving late may have to conduct a self-guided visit depending on Guide schedules.
  • Tours are conducted rain or shine.
  • Please note: We do not schedule group visits on the first Wednesday of each month due to our First Free Wednesday programming.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR INFORMATION

Self-guided tours are offered Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–3 pm from April to November, and additionally on Monday and Tuesday from May to mid-October.

  • Self-guided tours inside the MUSEUM are limited to high-school, college, adult and senior groups due to the delicate nature of our exhibitions. Reservations are always required.
  • All groups of 10 or more are required to make a reservation in advance, including a guided tour, in order for the museum to prepare its visitor services and security staff accordingly.
  • Audio tours of the Park and Museum are available free from your cell phone.
  • Group visits are not permitted on the first Wednesday of each month due to our First Free Wednesday programming.

SCHOOL AND YOUTH TOUR INFORMATION

DeCordova welcomes schools, youth programs, and camps and can help you plan a guided or self-guided tour to meet your group’s needs. Please complete the Tour Form.

School and youth group guided tours of the SCULPTURE PARK for grades 1–12 are offered Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–3 pm from April to November, and additionally on Monday and Tuesday from May to mid-October. Currently, Guides are trained to give tours of the Sculpture Park to grades 1–12. Upon request, guided tours for preschoolers of the SCULPTURE PARK may be available.

School and youth group guided tours of the MUSEUM for grades 1–12 are offered year-round when exhibitions are on view, Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–3 pm and additionally on Monday from May to mid-October. Unguided preschool groups are not permitted inside the Museum due to the delicate nature of our exhibitions.

ADDITIONAL TOUR INFORMATION

  • Because of the delicate nature of our exhibitions, guided tours are required for all students through grade 8 without exception.
  • Our trained guides help students understand and engage with the world of contemporary art. Tours are approximately 45 minutes. You may stay in the Sculpture Park longer, if you would like time for self-guided viewing or have an assignment for your students.
  • Please avoid giving students assignments to complete during guided tours. These experiences are interactive and require dialogue between Museum Guides and students.
  • One teacher or chaperone is required for every 10 students.
  • All teachers and chaperones are expected to engage in the art-viewing experience with students and Museum Guides as well as supervise student behavior. Chaperones must remain with students at all times.
  • Group visits are not permitted on the first Wednesday of each month due to our First Free Wednesday programming.

GROUP VISIT FEES

Group visit fees apply to guided and self-guided groups of 10 or more.

All groups of 10 or more are required to make a reservation in advance by completing a Tour Form. Your visit will be confirmed when you receive a confirmation letter with accompanying invoice, visit guidelines, and directions. If we need to adjust the date of your request, you will be promptly notified via phone or email.

Payment is required at least two weeks prior to the visit date. Please organize payment in full for the entire group in the form of cash (exact change only), check (made payable to deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum) or MC/Visa/AMX charge card through the Tour and Registration Coordinator, Donna Berube, 781.259.3603, dberube@decordova.org.

Teachers and chaperones are $10 per person. One teacher or chaperone is required for every 10 students.

SCULPTURE PARK TOUCH TOURS

We are pleased to offer Touch Tours tailored to groups for the blind or visually impaired and other multisensory learners. These specialized tours led by deCordova’s experienced Museum Guides provide unique access to highlighted sculptures through a tactile exploration.
