Lynette Shaw’s work seeks to explore the fluidity of representation and the relationship of what emerges in a canvas, “resulting in an illumination of its spirit.” This body of work signifies a departure from bringing life to inanimate objects by working to give freedom to the soul of the canvas. In the tradition of the landscape, the artist has found an organic synthesis of dimension and light that captures great depth and expression.
Shaw received her BFA from Tufts University and went on to earn a diploma from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has been included in exhibitions at Clark Gallery, Lincoln, MA, Brenda Taylor Gallery, Boston, MA and New York, NY, and The X Gallery, Nantucket, MA. Her work is included in the collections at AT&T, New York, NY and the Federal Reserve Building, Boston, MA, among others.
