Formally trained as a printmaker, Marjorie Forte creates well composed tapestries inspired by the subtle hues that exist in the landscape. The artist expresses emotions through the color palette and contrasting textures which are unique in each piece. By the environment functioning as her catalyst, Forte reinterprets the landscape to depict personal moments.
Educated at Pratt University, New York, NY and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Marjorie Forte has shown extensively throughout Massachusetts, including the Dana Art Gallery, Wellesley, the Milton Art Museum, Milton, and the MPG Gallery, Boston. She teaches in the Boston area at Cambridge Public Schools, Somerville Public Schools, and Agassiz After School Program, Cambridge, among others.
