Masayo Tsukawaki’s work is strongly affected by her location. Many of the materials she uses, including rice paper, are directly influenced from Japan, where she was born. Tsukawaki leaves her work untitled so the viewer is able create his or her own story for each piece.
Tsukawaki studied at the Art Students League of New York. Her work has been shown at Ramune Gallery, New York, NY, Gallery Nakai, Kyoto, Japan, and Santiago Gallery, Newburyport, MA. Tsukawaki’s work is also in numerous collections including Gallery Paris, Yokohama, Japan and Gallery Bamboo, Tokyo, Japan.
