S. Warner Pach’s work is captivating, partly due to the tangible sense of optimism that the vibrant scenes emanate. The soothing nature of the artist’s acrylic work on paper comes from a steadying horizon line that hold the viewer’s eye, while expanses of complementary colors combine to produce a serene landscape. This landscape is accented by solid forms that maintain a consistency of perspective. It is not until the title of Pach’s piece is introduced that any political slant is attributed to his work. The artist creates an important visual statement by focusing on the general peacefulness of the area, rather than the moments of historic discord that make the location memorable.
Originally from Worcester, MA, S. Warner Pach was educated at Princeton University.
