Sharon Butler has received numerous grants, awards and residencies, including a Pollock Krasner Foundation grant, and her paintings are included in private collections in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Baltimore, Tampa, Philadelphia, Providence, London, Berlin, and Kyoto.
She has exhibited at John Davis Gallery (Hudson, NY), Platform (New York, NY), Pocket Utopia (Brooklyn, NY), STOREFRONT (Brooklyn, NY), Edward Winkleman (New York, NY), and has upcoming shows at Real Art Ways in Hartford, CT and Season in Seattle, WA.
Butler maintains the award-winning art blog Two Coats of Paint, and is a contributing writer at The Brooklyn Rail. She is a professor of art at Eastern Connecticut State University, but has been on a leave of absence since September 2011 in order to work on other projects.
