Shirley Nisbet’s abstract paintings appear to be lit from within. Through the use of gestural brushstrokes and subtle colors, Nisbet’s work suggests movement and life. Although her subject matter ranges from flowers to abstract shapes, her work always maintains elements of sophistication and elegance.
The artist has shown at the Cape Cod Museum of Fine Arts, Dennis, MA and the Bristol Art Museum, Bristol, RI, among many other institutions across the United States. She has works in a variety of corporate collections, including MCI, Shawmut Bank, and the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
