FamilyFest

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Join DeCordova for Family SculptureFest (formerly Art in the Park) that is all about art, and all about fun! Enjoy this campus-wide celebration as it takes over all spaces at DeCordova—indoors and out. Sculpture Park tours, scavenger hunts, art-making, interactions with artists, performances, and community-related activities. Purchase art from our exclusive juried show of regional artists.

Exhibition Space

Family SculptureFest is an outdoor event that takes place rain or shine. Each artist is allotted a 10 x 10' lawn space on which to set up tents or booths. Booth spaces are numbered and assigned by lottery. Booth configurations are designed to optimize traffic patterns on the grounds of the Sculpture Park. Please note: Exhibiting artists must be prepared to deal with the unevenness of the Park's natural terrain. Notification of assigned booth number, location, and arrival time will be sent to participating artists in mid-May. On the day of the event, maps with artists' names, booth number, and location will be distributed to all visitors.

Qualifications

Family SculptureFest features exhibitors of original contemporary fine art and fine crafts including ceramics, drawings, fibers, glass, jewelry, metals, and paintings. Jurors use standards established by the American Craft Council to jury the show. If a medium is considered unsuitable by the jury, the booth fee and slides will be returned. FamilyFest does not accept applications for dried or pressed flower arrangements, food items, soap, candles, items constructed from kits or molds, prefabricated items, or imported items.
