"My work deals with the emotional fragility of human nature. I work to capture a still moment in time. I paint individuals experiencing a range of emotions from fear to ecstasy to elation or doubt. My goal is to initiate feelings between the viewer and the work to create a dialogue between the two and allow the viewer to make judgments, assessments, storylines, and reasons as to why the individual is making such an intense reaction. I paint strangers that are extracted from their surroundings, isolate them and give them a place to exist. They are silent strangers still and clear."
