Yuan Zuo is inspired by traditional Chinese landscape paintings. His use of abstract brushstrokes and a saturated color palette suggest trees, plants, sky, and horizon lines on canvas.
He received his BFA and MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art. He has been in a number of exhibitions including those at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Chinese Culture Institute, Boston, MA, Tao Water Art Gallery, West Barnstable, MA, China National Gallery, Beijing, China, and Clark Gallery, Lincoln, MA. The artist has also participated in a number of public art and environmental design projects in China.
