"Inspired by the imperfect process of working from memory, I venture into abstraction. Each painting is of a moment of recognition when I was surrounded and immersed in a landscape.
What I may recollect best is the knock of rain against the ocean, or feeling lost in a field of flowers. Without reference images, I try to translate these split and hazy memories into paint. Embracing a variety of mediums helps translate these feelings without falling into a systematic vocabulary of mark making."
